Description
Formic Acid (or Methanoic Acid) is the simplest and smallest Fatty Acid as it contains only 1 Carbon bond and is not usually described as a Fatty Acid due to its water-soluble properties.
Toxic Effects of Formic Acid
Alcohol-Related Disorders
Formic Acid may be directly responsible for the symptoms of Hangovers. Methanol (which is ultimately converted to Formic Acid) is strongly suspected of being the constituent of Alcoholic Beverages responsible for Hangovers. [1]

Formic Acid may damage the Thymus gland.
Metabolism
Excessive consumption of Formic Acid may damage the Thyroid Gland.
