Description
Decorin is the main Proteoglycan in the Skin. It consists of a core Protein and one Chondroitin Sulfate/Dermatan Sulfate chain.

The main function of Decorin is to regulate the assembly of Collagen. Decorin is distributed along Collagen fibrils and controls the distance between Collagen fibrils. Reducing the length of the Glycosaminoglycans chain in Decorin reduces the distance between Collagen fibrils. [1]
