Description

Palmitoyl Pentapeptide is a type of Matrikine Cosmeceutical.  It is derived from a fragment of the C-terminal portion of Collagen I.  The Palmitoyl moiety of this compound is Palmitic Acid, which is added to the Pentapeptide the molecule to enhance penetration through the Skin.  The Pentapeptide moiety of this compound contains the Amino Acids, Lysine, Threonine and Serine.  Therefore the Pentapeptide moiety is the active constituent and the Palmitoyl moiety is the carrier vehicle.
