Description
Ketones are a group of organic compounds consisting of a carbonyl group (i.e. an oxygen atom doubly bonded to a carbon atom) flanked by two other organic groups. Ketones are chemically similar to Aldehydes but are produced from Secondary Alcohols rather than Primary Alcohols.
