Propylene Glycol is a dihydric Alcohol of Propylene.

 

Uses of Propylene Glycol

Skin

 Propylene Glycol (applied topically) may temporarily alleviate Skin - Dry (Xeroderma):

 Propylene Glycol (applied topically) may increase the Water content of the Stratum Corneum layer of the Skin (however this occurs via Propylene Glycol “leaching” Water from underlying layers of the Skin which could further exacerbate Dry Skin).

 Caution:  Propylene Glycol (applied topically) can cause Allergies and Skin Rashes in some people.

 Propylene Glycol (applied topically to the Skin) may help to break down excessive Keratin (in conditions where excessive Keratinization occurs).
