Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone, alsp known as MSH, is a type of Polypeptide Hormone produced in and released by the Pituitary Gland.

Biological Function of Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone

Pigments

 MSH stimulates the production and dispersal of additional Melanin to Skin Cells by Melanocytes, resulting in darker pigmentation of the Skin (in a similar fashion to Tanning).  [1]
