Corpus Luteum
Description
The Corpus Luteum is (temporary) Glandular Tissue of the Ovaries that forms at the site of a ruptured Graafian Follicle after Ovulation - the Corpus Luteum can be likened to a “temporary” Endocrine Gland.

Sexual System - Female
The Corpus Luteum secretes Progesterone (at the time of ovulation, the Corpus Luteum secretes 20 - 25 mg of Progesterone per day).
