Oxytocin

Oxytocin is a type of Nonapeptide Neuropeptide secreted by the posterior Pituitary Gland Produced in the hypothalamus by nerve axons, and stored in the posterior pituitary gland.

Sexual System

 Oxytocin stimulates Lactation by initiating contractions in the Muscle Fibers of the Breasts.

 Oxytocin may stimulate Erections in males (and thereby may alleviate Male Impotence) - the mechanism by which Oxytocin stimulates male Erections is via its ability to stimulate the Nitric Oxide Synthase enzyme that in turn leads to Nitric Oxide production).  ^[1]

 Oxytocin is released into the bloodstream at the time of Orgasm (resulting in the relaxation that occurs following orgasm).

 Oxytocin is responsible for stimulating contractions in the Uterus during the Labor phase of Pregnancy.
