Conventional Medical Treatment of Depression

 Some types of Benzodiazepines alleviate some cases of Depression:

 Alprazolam (Xanax, a short-acting Benzodiazepine) is commonly prescribed in the treatment of Depression when Depression is accompanied by Anxiety.  Caution:  Alprazolam possesses numerous toxic side effects.

   Buspirone may alleviate Depression when Depression is accompanied by Anxiety.

 Some types of Dopamine Receptor Agonists alleviate some cases of Depression:

 Pramipexole may alleviate Depression (by activating Dopamine D2 and Dopamine D3 Receptors).  [1]

 Dopamine Reuptake Inhibitors alleviate some cases of Depression (by increasing the Brain’s levels of Dopamine):

 Amineptine may alleviate Depression.  [2]
