Opioids

 Enkephalinase destroys (breaks down) the body's endogenous Opioids (Endorphins and Enkephalins):

 This can be beneficial when these Opioids are being produced in excess by the body.

 

These Substances may Block the Action of Enkephalinase

Amino Acids

 Phenylalanine (especially in its "D" and "DL" forms) may block the actions of Enkephalinase.  [1]
