Nervous System
The Glossopharyngeal Nerve transports Nerve Impulses relating to the Sense of Taste from the back portion of the Tongue.
The Glossopharyngeal Nerve transports Nerve Impulses relating to the Senses of Pain and Touch from the back portion of the Tongue and from the throat (Pharynx).
The motor portion of the Glossopharyngeal Nerve transports motor Nerve Impulses from the Salivary Gland in the Cheek and Muscles in the Pharynx.
