Beta Waves are a type of Brain Wave.  The frequency of Beta Waves are 14 - 30 per second and their amplitude is 5-50 mV.

 Beta Waves occur during periods of Alertness with high excitation such as Stress, during which Concentration ability is diminished (contrast with Alpha Waves, which are associated with the Alertness that occurs during calm, relaxed periods).
