Thyroid Binding Globulin is a type of Protein.  It is classsed as a Globulin due to it being insoluble in Water.

Thyroid Hormones

   TBG binds to and functions as a storage vehicle for 99.96% of the body's Triiodothyronine (T3) within the Thyroid Gland.

   TBG binds to and functions as a storage vehicle for 99.6% of the body's Thyroxine (T4) within the Thyroid Gland.  [1]

 

Endogenous TBG Levels

 The following serum Thyroid Binding Globulin levels are regarded as normal (values differ between different laboratories):

 less than 30 mg per liter.
