The Tonsils are an organ of the Immune System located at the back of the Pharynx (Throat) composed almost entirely of Lymphoid Tissue held together by fibrous Connective Tissues.

 The Tonsils function as a component of the Immune System as a storage site for B-Lymphocytes and T-Lymphocytes.
