Description
Mitral Valve Prolapse is a slight deformity of the Mitral Valve in the Heart - usually producing no symptoms. It is characterized by excessive retrograde movement of one or both Mitral Valves into the Left Atrium during left Ventricular systole.
Prevalence
Mitral Valve Prolapse occurs in approximately 2.4% of the population.
