 The optimal daily requirement (ODA) for Vitamin B12 (for adults) is 500 - 2,000 micrograms (0.5 - 2.0 mg) per day.

 

Vitamin B12 Deficiency

 For people who have been diagnosed by a medical practitioner as being deficient in Vitamin B12, the daily dosage needed to restore levels to normal ranges is 1,000 - 2,000 micrograms (1 - 2 mg) per day.  The usual protocol is to take 2,000 micrograms of Vitamin B12 for one month followed by 1,000 micrograms per day thereafter.
