Mechanism of Action
Ramelteon has a high affinity and selectivity for Melatonin MT1 Receptors.
Ramelteon has a high affinity and selectivity for Melatonin MT2 Receptors.
Ramelteon has very little affinity for Melatonin MT3 Receptors.
Conventional Medical Usage of Ramelteon

Ramelteon is prescribed for the treatment of Insomnia (it promotes Sleep by activating Melatonin MT1 Receptors and Melatonin MT2 Receptors). [1]
