Macrolides are a group of Pharmaceutical Antibiotics.

 Macrolides may (infrequently) cause Liver dysfunction including increased Liver enzymes:

 Macrolides may (infrequently) cause hepatocellular and/or cholestatic Hepatitis (with and without Jaundice).

 Liver dysfunction caused by Macrolides is usually reversible.  In very rare instances, fatal Liver failure has been reported and generally has been associated with serious underlying diseases and/or concomitant medications.
