Antibiotics - Pharmaceutical

Description

Pharmaceutical Antibiotics are a large group of Prescribed Medications prescribed to counteract various Detrimental Bacteria.

Immune System

 Pharmaceutical Antibiotics are employed by orthodox medicine to inhibit or kill Detrimental Bacteria and some forms of Detrimental Fungi.

Digestive System

 Pharmaceutical Antibiotics may be implicated in Colitis (by allowing Clostridium difficile bacteria to proliferate).

 It has been speculated that excessive use of Pharmaceutical Antibiotics may be an underlying cause of Crohn’s Disease.  ^[1]

 Pharmaceutical Antibiotics may cause Diarrhea (Diarrhea caused by the use of Pharmaceutical Antibiotics is known as Antibiotic-Associated Diarrhea (AAD)).  ^[2]

 Pharmaceutical Antibiotics may cause Intestinal Permeability (by killing the layer of Beneficial Bacteria that reside in the Mucous Layer of the Intestinal Wall).  ^[3]

 Short-term use of Pharmaceutical Antibiotics has been suggested as a cause of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.  Types of Pharmaceutical Antibiotics that may contribute to Irritable Bowel Syndrome include:  ^[4]

 Amoxicillin

 Macrolides

 Paradoxically, some types of Pharmaceutical Antibiotics reduce the bacterial overgrowth associated with Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth Syndrome which has been implicated as an underlying cause of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Immune System

 Pharmaceutical Antibiotics (although initially destroying Detrimental Bacteria) may allow the longer term proliferation of various forms of Detrimental Bacteria and Detrimental Yeasts (by destroying the Beneficial Bacteria that normally retard the proliferation of Detrimental Bacteria) including:
