Overview

DMSA is a Dithiol (Sulfuric) compound that is an analogue of Dimercaprol commonly used in Chelation Therapy.

 DMSA is used in Chelation Therapy to facilitate the removal of several types of toxic heavy metals (toxic Minerals) from the body:

 DMSA is useful for the removal (chelation) of Arsenic from the body - DMSA may be more effective for cases of acute arsenic poisoning than for long-term arsenic exposure.  [1]

 DMSA may prevent the absorption of Cadmium from the gastrointestinal tract.  [2]

 DMSA may facilitate the removal of Lead from the body by mobilizing lead into the urine for excretion.  [3]
