Description

Trypanosoma cruzi is a species of Detrimental Trypanosoma Protozoa.  The disease caused by Trypanosoma cruzi infection is known as South American Trypanosomiasis (and also known as Chagas’ Disease;  Chagas-Cruz Disease;  Cruz Trypanosomiasis).

 

Prevalence

 Trypanosoma cruzi is endemic in Mexico and various countries of Central and South America.

Cardiovascular System

 Trypanosoma cruzi infection may cause Cardiomyopathy.

 

Immune System

 Trypanosoma cruzi infection may cause Adenitis (swollen Lymph Nodes).
