Description

Beneficial Streptococci are a group of Beneficial Streptococcus Bacteria - note that Streptococcus Bacteria  can be either beneficial or detrimental depending on its environment and circumstances.  This topic is concerned only with the beneficial strains of Streptococcus.

 

Beneficial Streptococcus Bacteria may Enhance the Function of these Substances

Carbohydrates/Organic Acids

 Streptococcus bacteria are responsible for (and are often used commercially in) fermenting Lactose - resulting in its conversion to Lactic Acid (for example, in many fermented Milk products):

 Caution:  Lactic Acid production within the Mouth is instrumental in the formation of Plaque that leads to Tooth Decay.
