Also known as:  UVC

Description

UV-C is a spectrum of Ultra-Violet Radiation with a wavelength from 200 nm to 285 nm.

Bioavailability

UV-C can penetrate through to the Epidermis of the Skin (but to a lesser extent than other forms of Ultra-Violet Radiation).

These Substances may Counteract UV-C

Gases

Ozone (in the earth’s atmosphere) normally absorbs almost all UV-C:  [1]

The Ozone layer of the earth’s atmosphere is shrinking and this is permitting more UV-C to reach the earth’s surface (and human Skin).
