Histaminase
Also known as: Amine Oxidase (Copper-containing); DAO; Diamine Oxidase; Diamino Oxyhydrase
Description
Histaminase is an Oxidase Enzyme found throughout the body.
Biological Function of Histaminase
Neurotransmitters
Histaminase catalyzes the destruction of Histamine (this is beneficial when properly regulated but detrimental when too much Histaminase is produced). Insufficient production of Histaminase is responsible for Histamine Intolerance.
