Biological Function of Tyrosine Hydroxylase

Amino Acids/Neurotransmitters

Tyrosine Hydroxylase catalyzes the conversion of Tyrosine to L-Dopa:  [1]

Tyrosine Hydroxylase is indirectly essential for the production of all Catecholamines (Dopamine, Norepinephrine and Adrenaline), due to its (rate-limiting) role in catalyzing the conversion of Tyrosine to L-Dopa:  [2]
