Pyruvate Carboxylase
Also known as: Pyruvic Carboxylase
Description
Pyruvate Carboxylase is an Ligase Enzyme present in the Mitochondria of Cells.
Biological Function of Pyruvate Carboxylase
Metabolism
Pyruvate Carboxylase catalyzes the conversion of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) + Pyruvic Acid toOxaloacetic Acid (i.e. it “feeds” Pyruvic Acid into the Krebs Cycle of Energy production) and Orthophosphate.
These Substances may Enhance the Function of Pyruvate Carboxylase
