CYP3A4 is a type of Cytochrome P-450 Enzyme. It comprises approximately 28% of total Cytochrome P-450 enzyme activity.
Function of CYP3A4
Like all Cytochrome P-450 enzymes, CYP3A4 is responsible for the (Phase I) detoxification of various substances in the Intestines and Liver. The following substances are acted upon by CYP3A4:
