Maltitol is a type of Sugar Alcohol formed from the hydrogenation of Maltose.
Commercial Usage of Maltitol
Maltitol is used commercially as a Sugar Substitute. It is 90% as sweet as Sucrose (Table Sugar) and has fewer calories thn Sucrose. Maltitol does not promote Tooth Decay. Most commercially available Maltitol is produced from Corn.
