Bioidentical Hormones

Bioidentical Hormones are exogenous Hormones that are chemically identical to those naturally present in the human body.  Bioidentical Hormones are administered via various delivery methods in order to correct health issues associated with declines of these same Hormones.

The term “Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy” is most commonly used to describe the practice of using Bioidentical Hormones for the treatment of deficient Estogens and Progesterone levels in postmenopausal women.  At Menopause, endogenous Estrogens levels decline by 40% to 60%, which causes the menstrual cycle to cease.  Progesterone levels may fall to almost zero in some women at Menopause.
