Mescaline
Description
Mescaline is a type of Catecholamine-like Psychedelic Drug. Mescaline's chemical structure is similar to that of Norepinephrine and Designer Drugs (Psychedelic Amphetamines). Most illicit Mescaline is produced synthetically, although Mescaline has been used as a Psychedelic Drug for thousands of years by extracting it from Peyote.
Effects of Mescaline
Cardiovascular System/Nervous System
Low dosages (2 - 3 mg of Mescaline per kg of body weight) causes effects similar to the fight or flight response mediated by Adrenaline:
Dilation of the Pupils of the Eyes
Increased Blood Pressure.
Tachycardia (increased heartbeat rate).
Increase in body Temperature (Hyperthermia).
Normal dosages used by Psychedelic Drug users (5 mg per kg of body weight) produce the sought after Psychedelic effects and other effects including:
Anxiety
Static Tremor
Vivid Hallucinations that are usually visual and which consist of brightly colored lights, geometric designs, animals and occasionally people
Color and space perception is often impaired.
Bioavailability
When ingested orally, Mescaline is rapidly and completely absorbed - significant concentrations of Mescaline arise within the Brain within 30 - 90 minutes after its ingestion.
The effects of a single dosage of Mescaline persist for approximately 10 hours after its ingestion.
