Description

DSP-4 is a type of (potent) Neurotoxin.

Toxic Effects of DSP-4

Nervous System

DSP-4 inactivates Nitric Oxide Synthase (NOS) in the Brain’s Noradrenergic Neurons which leads to subsequent depletion of Nitric Oxide.  [1]

DSP-4 may damage the of the Dentate Gyrus of the Hippocampus.

DSP-4 may cause long-lasting depletion of Norepinephrine by damaging Noradrenergic Neurons.  [2]

These Substances may Protect the Dentate Gyrus

Smart Drugs

Deprenyl may protect the Noradrenergic Neurons of the Dentate Gyrus from the toxic effects of DSP-4 and Deprenyl may also prevent the inactivation of Nitric Oxide Synthase (NOS) in the Brain’s Noradrenergic Neurons by DSP-4.  [3]
