Exercise - Substances Interfered with
Description
This section outlines those nutrients and other compounds that Exercise (or excessive Exercise) depletes or increases the excretion of.
Excessive or Incorrect Exercise may Interfere with these Substances
Amino Acids
Excessive Exercise may cause the depletion of Branched-Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) from Muscles: [1]
Leucine is released from Muscles during Exercise for use in the production of Alanine - therefore excessive Exercise or Endurance Exercise may cause depletion of Leucine and supplemental Leucine may help to counteract this Exercise-induced loss of Muscle Leucine.
Intensive Exercise may cause the depletion of Carnitine from the Muscles. [2]
Intensive Exercise may cause the depletion of the body’s endogenous reserves of Creatine Phosphate. [3]
Intensive Exercise may cause the depletion of Glutamine from the Muscles, Liver and Blood Plasma (a single bout of non-intensive Exercise can cause a 45% reduction in plasma Glutamine compared to pre-Exercise plasma Glutamine levels). [4]
