Aloe vera is a perennial succulent plant from the Liliaceae family, native to North Africa and widely cultivated worldwide. Its thick leaves contain two main products: Gel (clear mucilaginous substance inside the leaves)
Latex (yellowish juice just beneath the skin of the leaf, containing anthraquinones like aloin).
