The Corpus Spongiosum is a sponge-like channel located at the base of the Penis and which surrounds the (male) Urethra.

 Nitric Oxide (NO) is released from the Endothelium (wall) of the Corpus Spongiosum and stimulates its muscles to relax, allowing it to fill with blood (the mechanism of Erections).
