The Vagal Center is a component of the Medulla of the Brain Stem.

Biological Functions of the Vagal Center

Nervous System

The Vagal Center is involved in the control of the Sense of Appetite:

Nerve Impulses from the Appetite Center of the Hypothalamus can stimulate the Vagal Center.

In response to Nerve Impulses from the Appetite Center, the Vagal Center transmits (parasympathetic) Nerve Impulses via the Vagus Nerve to stimulate the production of Gastric Juice in the Stomach - Acetylcholine is the Neurotransmitter that is involved in these Nerve Impulses.
