Description
Pterygium is a topical ailment of the Eye characterized by the formation of an abnormal triangular fold of hypertrophied membrane tissue extending from the base of the Conunctivita to the border of the Cornea, or beyond, with the Apex pointing toward the Pupil of the Eye.
Pterygia are usually asymptomatic, and many do not require immediate treatment. Some Pterygia occasionally become red and inflammed. Large or thick Pterygia may become annoying to some people due to the presence of a persistent foreign body sensation in the affected Eye.
