Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) may enter the body's cells to prime or activate the subcellular mechanisms involved in the production and release of MIF. It may also produce a cofactor that enhances MIF or has MIF-like activity.

Hormones
Excessive production of Glucocorticoids may block the effects of MIF.

Pharmaceutical Glucocorticosteroids may block the effects of MIF.
