Exogenous G-CSF is generally well-tolerated by most persons receiving this therapy.

Occasionally, exogenous G-CSF may cause Headaches.
Clinical Availability of G-CSF
Synthetic G-CSF has been developed using recombinant DNA technology and is available only for clinical usage (under the brand names Filgrastim or Neupogen). It is administered parenterally (i.e. by means other than orally).
