Cancer - Breast - Causes

Introduction

This section outlines the warning signs for Cancer and the Subtances, Foods and Herbs that increase the risk of Breast Cancer.

 The typical warning sign for Breast Cancer is a painless lump in the Breast;  however there may occasionally also be Pain (note that not all painless lumps in the Breast are indications of Breast Cancer).

 Any change in the shape, color or texture of the Breast is an occasional warning sign for Breast Cancer.

 Discharges from or tenderness of the nipples are occasional warning signs for Breast Cancer.

Amines

 Some types of Heterocyclic Aromatic Amines (HAAs) may cause BreastCancer.  ^[1]

Amino Acids

 Elevated Homocysteine levels may increase the risk of Breast Cancer.  ^[2]

Carbohydrates

 Excessive consumption of Carbohydrates may increase the risk of Breast Cancer:  ^[3]

 Excessive consumption of Simple Sugars may increase the risk of Breast Cancer:  ^[4]

 Excessive consumption of Fructose may increase the risk of Breast Cancer.  ^[5]

 Excessive consumption of Sucrose may increase the risk of Breast Cancer.  ^[6]

Electromagnetic Radiation

 Exposure to (both environmental and medical) X-Rays may increase the risk of Breast Cancer.

Environmental Toxins

 Exposure to Air Pollution may increase the risk of Breast Cancer.  ^[7]

 Excessive exposure to Organochlorines may increase the risk of Breast Cancer.  ^[8]

Enzymes

 Excessive activity of Aromatase has been implicated in the development of (Estrogens-dependent) Breast Cancer.

 Excessive Beta-Glucuronidase activity may increase the risk of Breast Cancer (by re-activating potentially carcinogenic Estrogens).  ^[9]

 Excessive activity of Fatty Acid Synthase may play a role in the growth of Breast Cancer.

 Excessive Ornithine Decarboxylase activity has been implicated in the development of Breast Cancer (due to Ornithine Decarboxylase’s involvement in Cell proliferation).
