Exopeptidases
Description
Exopeptidases are a group of endogenous Proteolytic Digestive Enzymes that exist and are activated in the Ileum of the Small Intestine.

Exopeptidases complete the digestion of dietary Protein before its constituent Amino Acids enter the bloodstream:
Exopeptidases hydrolyze the terminal Peptide Bonds rather than the bonds within the Polypeptide chains of dietary Proteins. (Endopeptidases hydrolyze the Peptide Bonds within these Polypeptide chains).
Each type of Exopeptidase attacks (breaks down) a different area of the Polypeptide or Dipeptide.
