 Vitamin C reacts with Ferric Iron (oxidized Iron) to form Ferrous Iron (reduced Iron) - Ferrous Iron, in turn, reacts with Hydrogen Peroxide to form Hydroxyl Free Radicals.  [2]

 Vitamin C may reduce the body's absorption of the Sodium Selenite form of Selenium (but does NOT inhibit the absorption of other forms of Selenium).
