Vitamins
Overview
Vitamins are organic micronutrients that are required in small amounts in order to sustain human life. Vitamins (with few exceptions) cannot be manufactured endogenously and must therefore be obtained from supplements or from foods via the diet.
Bioavailability
Vitamins that are consumed on an empty stomach are absorbed more rapidly than Vitamins consumed in conjunction with Food but their absorption on an empty Stomach peaks far more quickly and their half-life is therefore only approximately four hours.
Supplemental Vitamins that are consumed in conjunction with Food take longer to reach the bloodstream but their peak bloodstream levels are sustained for longer than when supplemental Vitamins are consumed on an empty stomach.
