Description

Kefir is a fermented Milk product produced by adding Kefir grains to Milk.  The Kefir grains are a living “growing mass” of various Beneficial Microorganisms and Kefiran (a Polysaccharide).

 

The fermentation process for Kefir (which takes about twenty-four hours), during which the grains change Milk into a thick, astringent tasting drink.  Kefir is regarded as a probiotic because it contains live Bacteria and Yeasts.
