Dipyridamole helps to prevent abnormal Blood Clotting and is primarily used for the prevention of post-operative Blood Clotting complications associated with prosthetic Heart Valves in combination with other Pharmaceutical Anticoagulants.
Dipyridamole (combined with Aspirin in a product known as Aggrenox) helps to reduce the risk of (Ischemic) Stroke in patients who have already experienced transient ischemic attacks of completed (Ischemic) Strokes as a result of abnormal Blood Clotting in the Brain. [1]
