Arginine may facilitate the conversion of Guanosine Triphosphate to Cyclic GMP. This occurs from Arginine’s function as a precursor for Nitric Oxide. When Nitric Oxide activates Nitric Oxide Receptors it stimulates a specific G-Protein that activates Guanyl Cyclase which catalyzes the conversion of Guanosine Triphosphate to Cyclic GMP. [1]
