Description

Azulenes are a group of Sesquiterpenes.  They are not present in large quantities in the natural state, but are produced as byproducts of the steam distillation process of extraction, from the volatile precursors (Proazulenes) of the herbs in which they are found (e.g. Chamomile).  Azulenes are also produced in large quantities by the infusion of Herbs such as Chamomile in hot water.
