Description

Peroxidized Fats are or Fats (Fatty Acids) that have been oxidized by the process of peroxidation.

These Substances/Factors Cause the Peroxidation of Fats

The process of peroxidation of Fats is also known as Lipid Peroxidation.

Carbohydrates/Lipids

Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) may cause the Lipid Peroxidation in the Liver and Spleen.

Electromagnetic Radiation

Exposure of Fatty Acids to Light may accelerate their peroxidation.

Elements

Exposure of Fatty Acids (especially Alpha-Linolenic Acid and Linoleic Acid) to Oxygen may accelerate their peroxidation.

Peroxides (especially Hydrogen Peroxide) may cause the peroxidation of Fatty Acids.

Environmental Toxins

Nitrogen Oxides may cause the peroxidation of endogenous Fats within the body.

Free Radicals

Free Radicals may cause peroxidation of dietary and endogenous Fats.
