Description

CYP3A5 is a type of Cytochrome P-450 Enzyme.

 

Function of CYP3A5

 Like all Cytochrome P-450 enzymes, CYP3A5 is responsible for the (Phase I) detoxification of various substances in the Liver.  The following substances are acted upon by CYP3A5:

 

Hormones

 Cortisol

 Testosterone

 

Prescribed Medications

 Ethinyl Estradiol

 Lovastatin

 Nifedipine

 Quinidine

 Terfenadine

 Triazolam

 Vinblastine

 Vincristine
