Description

CYP1A1 is a type of Cytochrome P-450 Enzyme.

 

Function of CYP1A1

 Like all Cytochrome P-450 enzymes, CYP1A1 is responsible for the (Phase I) detoxification of various substances in the Liver.  The following substances are acted upon by CYP1A1:

 

Environmental Toxins

 Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons

 

These Herbs may Increase the Activity of CYP1A1

 Ginkgo biloba may increase the activity of CYP1A1.  [1]

Vegetables

 Green Tea may inhibit the activity of CYP1A1.
