Band 3 Protein
Also known as: B3P
Description
Band 3 Protein is a type of Protein (containing 911 Amino Acids) that is present in all Cell Membranes (especially those of the Brain and T-Lymphocytes) as well as in the Nuclear, Golgi and Mitochondrial Membranes of all Cell types.
Biological Function of Band 3 Protein
Cells
B3P facilitates the movement of Anions (e.g. Chloride) between the Cell Membrane and the Cytoskeleton in the Cytoplasm of Cells.
B3P helps to maintain the structure of Cell Membranes and participates in the repair of Cell Membranes.
B3P participates in Cell Respiration (involving the transportation of Carbon Dioxide).
